Colombia star James Rodriguez would be interested in a move to La Liga in the future but is not so convinced about playing in the Premier League.
The World Cup’s current top goalscorer is preparing for Friday night’s quarter-final against hosts Brazil and his impressive tournament has led to increased speculation about his future at club level.
Rodriguez only joined Monaco from Porto in a £34million deal in the summer of 2013 but he was previously linked with Manchester United and Chelsea, while Real Madrid have also been credited with an interest.
The 22-year-old said in a Q&A with adidas: “I have said in the past that I would like to play in Spain one day, because it is a league that is good technically and where you get a lot of touches on the ball, which is my style.
“The Premier League is maybe a bit physical at this stage.
“But I am a Monaco player and I am not thinking about anything like that at the moment. I am now just concentrating on Brazil, which is going to be a wonderful experience for us.”
